Bob Newton

Not a lot to say today, except that this morning I attended the funeral of an old family friend. Dad worked with Bob for 25 37 years, and sadly he passed away on June 8th. He’d been suffering from alzheimers.

The first time I went to the Cotswolds I did so in the company of Bob, a man who wore corduroys at the weekend and enjoyed drinking unusual amounts of tea. No better company for a sedate stroll around Broadway. He’ll be missed.

  1. My mother has Alzheimers now. It is difficult to see somebody you know not able to remember who you are. The most precious thing I heard her say to me during this time is “I know that I know you”. My heart grew….
